Saudi and Egyptian Foreign Ministers Concede That Solution in Syria Should Be Peaceful and Decided by Syrian People Alone

Jan 05, 2013

RIYADH, (SANA) – After attempting every method of interference, including supporting terrorists and begging for western intervention, and failing in these attempts, the Saudi and Egyptian Foreign Ministers conceded that the solution of the crises in Syria should be peaceful and decided by the Syrian people without foreign interference.

At the conclusion of his talks with Egyptian counterpart Mohammad Kamel Amro on Saturday, Saudi Foreign Minister Saud al-Fayssal said that a peaceful solution in Syria is wanted and desired on Arab and international levels if it will avoid further bloodshed, and that the Syrians themselves will decide how this solution is implemented.

Al-Fayssal also claimed that his country is against interfering in other countries' internal affairs, despite the fact that he had said before in front of US State Secretary Hillary Clinton that arming the opposition groups in Syria is a duty and that establishing a no-fly zone is necessary.

This new position, which is possibly due to the west's acknowledgment that the aggression against Syria will not succeed in achieving its goals, doesn't constitute more than theoretic statements for the media, as Saudi Arabia and Egypt continue to interfere in Syria's internal affairs, claiming to represent the Syrian people while continuing to support terrorists who kill Syrians and vandalize the country's establishments and infrastructure.
